Sunset Restaurant Review: A Peruvian experience on Irving Street

Jose Calvo-Perez, owner of Lomo Libre Cantina

San Francisco’s only Peruvian sports bar is in the Sunset. At Lomo Libre Cantina, on Irving Street near 20th Avenue, you can cheer on your favorite sports team while enjoying a bowl of ceviche, a juicy empanada, and chilled beer or handcrafted cocktail.

Lomo Libre Cantina is an expression of love for Peruvian food and sports by its owner, Jose Calvo-Perez. Jose is responsible for some of San Francisco’s finest Peruvian restaurants including Fresca in the Inner Sunset. Jose is a born and raised San Franciscan with roots in Ingleside. He is a proud alumnus of St Monica School.

Lomo Libre Cantina is the perfect spot to explore Peruvian cuisine while you enjoy a fun night out with family or friends. Sports fans can watch the action on multiple large screen TVs. A  complete menu and full bar keeps you energized.

The menu features a mouth watering selection of ceviches, sandwiches and burritos to satisfy most cravings and dietary preferences. The bar features pisco sours, margaritas and punch bowls.

You will not be disappointed by Lomo Lobre’s signature dish, Lomo Saltado, which is a beef stir fry served with rice (or noodles) and infused with Peruvian flavors. It is wonderfully paired with a Cuzquena, which is Peru’s national beer.
